I am a Semi-Finalist!

Recently I applied for a grant at Idea Cafe, a website for small business owners, and I am excited that I am a Semi-Finalist! The grant is for $1000 and, if I receive it, will be used to begin a fund for a special community service project I have been working on called "Images of Hope," featuring photos of healthy children and adults who spent the first weeks of their life in the NICU. My vision is to have these photos enlarged and displayed in or around the NICU, and by providing these image displays as success stories, parents facing the reality of a child in the NICU can visualize a future as a family outside the hospital walls. Here is one of my Images of Hope - the little one I chose as the namesake for my program:

With or without the grant, I will be diligently working on getting my campaign to move forward and become a reality. If you would like more information, if you have a child that has graduated from the NICU and would like to be considered for possible inclusion in the program, or if you would like to be involved, please contact Jessie at 219.8166 or via email.

08 Senior Michael

Michael's mom called me last week to get her son's photos done for his grad announcements and we were able to squeeze him in last minute - and I am so glad we did! He's a really cool, laid back kind of guy and it was a really easy session.

If you have not yet gotten your senior pictures done and you are graduating in 2008, you still have time! Get photos done for your grad party or even to include in your thank you notes! We are also doing a limited number of events in June - if you want photographic coverage for your grad party or other event, contact Jessie at 219.8166 for pricing and availability!

Baby Billy

This little guy was the brightest eyed two week old I have ever seen! He was so interested in what was going on around him, and I loved taking pictures of him. Here he is in the handmade family cradle, with his special quilt made by grandma...
And as you can see, Billy was born into a full house! Always a little chaos, but always lots of love.
These three just made my day. I loved how giggly they were (especially about brother's stinky feet!)
And this one. Boy, does she rule the roost. Love this shot of her. So typical of her personality. I did a little antique finish on it to add to the mood. :)
Ahhh and Baby Billy. What a little sweetheart. He fell asleep during the last 15 minutes of the session. I love how peaceful he looks.

I had such a great time with this wonderful family!

Happy Birthday Hope!

Remember my friend whose baby was born 9 weeks early on Mother's Day last year? Well... it's a year later and take a look at her now!

Happy Birthday, Hope! It was a joy to photograph your first birthday! :)

08 Senior - Anne

I absolutely loved my session with Anne - it was so crazy and windy and fun! We had to work hard at finding little pockets here and there where the wind wasn't blowing all over the place. Anne was a great sport, too - and her mom was a fantastic assistant to me, holding my reflector while I was shooting the photos. At least once, we were worried the reflector was going to take off like a kite, but she held on tight... and I think the results of the session were awesome!

Thanks for a great afternoon, Anne! Enjoy your preview. Your entire gallery will be up by the end of the weekend. :)

08 Senior Ricky

We had a great time during our session. We started out at the Academy, which was pretty cool... but then we found out about this awesome mural at UNLV that was painted by a friend of mine, Chance Gomez! I knew we had to take some shots over there - and I LOVE the way the photos turned out from that hallway.

Congrats to you on your graduation, Ricky! Enjoy your photos! :)

Order in the court!

The Prom Court, that is. CCSV's prom was last weekend.
Well, we tried for order anyway... but as you can see it went downhill pretty fast!

I had a great time, you guys! Your gallery is up... if you haven't received an email from me with access to the gallery, email me or call 219.8166!

2008 Senior - Carol

When I met Carol, I instantly fell in love with her charm and her sense of style. Oh... and that gorgeous smile of hers! We had a great session and she is a natural in front of the camera. I loved spending the afternoon with her and her mom!

Thanks for such a great session, Carol! I can't wait for you to see the rest of your gallery. Until then... enjoy the preview!

2008 Senior - Tyler

I did a bunch of photos of Tyler with Dave at the beginning of the school year - and it's so cool to see him now, ready to graduate and head off to college. He is a very charming guy, as is clear by the photos...

One thing he regretted from his first shoot was not having his letterman jacket with him - this time we made sure to take some pictures with the jacket too.

Congratulations, Tyler!

2008 Senior - Jeremy

I met Jeremy last year when doing some portraits of his family. He is a funny, cool, down to earth guy. And football is his LIFE. His last family picture was in the height of football season - and he had a total mohawk! HA! I'm glad he toned it down a bit for his grad pictures.
Seriously though - this guy exudes coolness. He was all about the shades.
And of course, the football!
I heard there's some sort of tournament coming up... no doubt he'll be sporting the mohawk again... Good luck, Jeremy! :)

2008 Senior - Nick

Nick is a really cool guy. Loved his great smile - especially when I made him laugh or tried to embarrass him!
Next fall, he will be attending SUU. I thought it was so cool that he brought some school logowear to put on at the photoshoot.

Guess what sport he will be playing there?

Congrats to you, Nick! I had a great time at our session.

2008 Senior - Jeff

Another one of my recent senior guys is Jeff. I took senior pictures of his older brother Bob last year, and it is so exciting to do another member of their family. Jeff was really relaxed during the session and we had a lot of fun.

I loved this first image - I gave i a bit of an antique look because it seemed to lend itself to that feel.

Congratulations to you, Jeff!
